David has shown great promise in the start of his athletics career by winning a silver medal in the 100m at English Schools Championships in 2008, and silver as an U17 at the World School Games in the 100m in Doha, in 2009.

David is ranked 2nd on the British All-Time list for an U17, with Mark Lewis-Francis ranked 1st, which shows a great indication of what David could run in the future.

A year later in 2010 David won 100m Bronze at the Youth Olympics in Singapore. Within a year David went from running 10.71secs to 10.39secs in 2010, this was a massive PB.

David improved his PB to 10.29 in 2011 when he won a Bronze, and Gold medal in the 100m and 200m, at the European Junior Championships, in Tallinn. Although initially disappointed with the Bronze in the 100m David was determined to make sure he won gold in the 200m, which he successfully did.

Previously coached by John Powell who discovered his talent David now coached by Jonas Tawiah, where he trains with his rivals Deji Tobais and Chijindu Ujah at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre.

David believes he has the right set up in training, having like-minded fast training partners to drive him.David will be aiming for the European U23 Championships this year in Finland where he aims to win Gold.
