Beagles Road Relays Round Up
Newham and Essex Beagles had 3 Boys Teams in The Essex Young Athletes Road Relay Championship at Colchester on Sunday 5th April 2009.
The U13 Team came 4th. Representing the Club were Alex Russo in the 2nd leg and Jed Rimell in the final leg.
The U15 Team came 4th. Representing the Club were Jake Burgess in the 1st leg, James Watts in the 2nd leg and Joe Robinson in the final leg.
The U17 Team came 3rd winning the bronze medal. Representing the Club were Richard Golsts in the 1st leg, David Kail in the 2nd leg and Nakole Iddirisu in the final leg.

Newham and Essex Beagles men came 4th in SEAA Road Relay Championships at The Open University, Milton Keynes on Sunday. The Beagles just Missed out on third place to Woodford Green and Essex Ladies by 24sec. The team was as follows:

Mourmin Geele had the 3rd fasted long leg overall, whilst Stephen Hepples and Samater Farah 3rd and 4th shortest legs overall. Team Manager Bob Smith said he felt his team could have pushed for a medal however, some of his key runners Dave Mictchinson, Kevin Skinner, Chris Mackay and James Shane were unavailable. Smith said he is now looking forward to the National 12-Stage Road Relay at Sutton Park on April 18th, where the team have a good chance of a medal position.
