In the last match of the season NEB ladies won their Southern Women's match
by 8 points. It was a great team effort as we had struggled all season to put a
team together.
The day started with Paula Peaty and Natasha Scarlett wining A
& B Hammer with 38.86m & 26.12m. Followed by Melissa Strevens and Kelly
Montgomery wining A & B Paul Vault ( which they have done in every Southern
Women's for the last 2 years). Melissa also broke the club record for the second
time this year with a jump of 2.90m.
Don Lennon brought his girls down from up
north which was a great help. Leigh Lennon won the A 200m in 27.0 and the 400m
in 57.7. Kristie Leybourne won the B 800m in 2.23.2 and the A 1,500m in 5.03.3.
Young Lucy Lennon competed for the first time and came 2nd in the 200m (30.8)
and 800m (2.35.9). It was nice to see Asha Phillips back after a long injury,
she won the 100m in 12.3s.
Other winners were
Claire Spurway B 100m in 12.5
Rianne Ashitey B 200m in 27.7
