Third Place Finish for Mo
Beagle’s athlete Mo Farah finished third in a domestic 4km race at the Bupa Great Edinburgh International Cross-Country. It was the second defeat in the space of four weeks for the 26 year old Londoner, who collapsed in exhaustion after being beaten into second place at the European Cross-Country Championships in Dublin last month. "There's something not right, I almost collapsed again," he said.

Mo opened up a big early lead in the snow of Holyrood Park only to be overhauled on the final lap by fellow Britons Ricky Stevenson and Steve Vernon. Stevenson sprinted away to win in 13min 20sec with Mo eight seconds behind in third.

Mo, who is due to fly to Kenya for a high altitude training camp, said he was determined to put his defeat behind him. "I went off too hard and at the end I had nothing left," he said. "I've got to put this to the back of my mind and come back positive. I promise you, I'll come back stronger.

Elsewhere, at the SEAA Indoor Championships there were third place wins in the 800m for Nakole Iddirisu in the U20 M (1:57.91), Tommy Bower in the U17 M (2:03.29) and Eleanor Bounds in the U17 W (2:21.06). There was a first place win for Beagles newcomer Robbie Grabarz in the High Jump (2.15) at the Loughborough University Open, with Matt Roberts taking second place (2.10).
