Iwan Thomas

Iwan Thomas MBE, current British record holder in the 400m has been highly successful in his time as an athlete, and now as a tv personality. On top of this, Iwan currently holds the Commonwealth 400m record.
His first major success was in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic games, qualifying fo the final and finishing in a spirited 5th. This success was improved on later, when he picked up an Olympic Silver as part of the Great Britain and Northern Island 4x400m relay team.
A year later, Thomas ran in the 4x400m team for the World Championships in Athens. After the USA were found to have an athlete who tested positive for a banned substance - Britain's medal was later upgraded to Gold. Iwan finally received his deserved gold medal in 2010.
Away from his athletics career, Iwan has become quite the TV personality. Presenting regularly, including being a key pundit on the 2011 World Championships - Thomas is likely to become even more of a household name when he helps present Channel 4's exclusive coverage of the Paralympics later this year.
