Beagles at Claybury Met League

The first London City Runner Metropolitan League of the season took place on Saturday 8th October, at Claybury. We were not sure about the Beagles turnout, due to athletes being injured and unavailability. Having said this, those that did compete gave it their all. In the U13 boys race Ben Haynes (pictured) came in 3rd place in a time of 11.21. Charlie Ackland placed 5th in 11.33 and Laushaan Loganathan 31st in 15.09. A not too well Jim Fodder placed 30th in 16.07 in the U15 boys, whilst newcomer Mikael Matos was 32nd in 16.17. The top placed senior woman was Deborah Niccol 13th in 22.42. Adele Stach-Kevitz finished a credible 76th in 27.20.
Although not at full strength there were some good performances in the men’s race, in a field of over 350 runners. Andy Barber finished 33rd in 27.08. Tommy Bower (U20) who had an excellent race finished 43rd in 27.43. David Kail (U20) finished 151st in 31.07. Jad El-Houssami (U20) finished 240th in 33.57 and Leigh Crispin 263rd in 35.09.
