UK Athletics have announced the selection of the following Newham and Essex Beagles athletes as part of the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team for the 2012 World Indoor Championships in Istanbul, Turkey.
 
3000 metres - Mo Farah. Current World 5000 metres champion has confirmed that he will compete after discussions with his coach, Alberto Salazar.
 
High Jump - Robbie Grabarz. A reward for a great indoor season with a 2.34metres club record in Wuppertal, followed by a 2.32metres win at Birmingham on Saturday.
 
Pole Vault - Steve Lewis. Now coached by Dan Pfaff, and has vaulted 5.72metres this winter.
 
Long Jump - JJ Jegede. Joined Beagles as a 12 year old and hitting great form with an 8.04metres jump at Birmingham on Saturday.
 
Women's 60 metres - Asha Philip. Leads GB rankings this winter with 7.19seconds. Not just back to her best before her trampolining knee injury; she's further forward than that.
 
Women's 4x400 metres - Christine Ohuruogu.
