Newham and Essex Beagles senior ladies had their final U.K League meeting at Winchester, on Saturday 6th August. The team were in sixth place in the division prior to Saturday, so they knew they needed to do well in order to keep their place in Division one.On the day a small but very determined team took to the track and field to try and maintain their division 1 status. Team managers for the day Brian and Gaye Strevens found they had a lot to do to fill empty spaces and cover spaces due to injuries on the day. The day was hard work for the athletes who made the journey, and they were rewarded with a 8th place finish on the day, which meant a final league place of 6th in table. This means league one again next year, a big thank you to everyone who took part, or officiated during the season.
