The final Stratford Speed GP of the season (GP4) on Sunday, 8th September, saw more great performances.

There were two World Age records to go alongside the Irish Men's 100m record achieved at GP3. Darren Scott of St Helens AC achieved a Male 55 record in the 200m clocking 23.04 sec, and Andrew Ridley set a new Male 60 mark in the 800m achieving 2.08.07. Congratulations to both for their fantastic runs.

Elsewhere the highlights were a 10.06 100m from Eugene Amo-Dadzie, the world's fastest accountant, and a battle in the 400m Hurdles where Efe Okoro just held off Jake Minshull with 49.47 to 49.66 - Jake's first sub 50 race.

Competitor numbers were the same as last year for this meeting, but the Paralympics meant very few classified athletes here. But we saw a big take-up among younger age groups, which is obviously encouraging for the future.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the successful organisation of the Stratford Speed GP this season.

Interim Secretary and Interim Treasurer Urgently Required

Newham and Essex Beagles AC is currently in need of an interim Secretary and interim Treasurer to fulfil crucial administrative and financial responsibilities.

Newham & Essex Beagles is and has always been run by volunteers. The very functioning of the club relies on the goodwill and support of its members and has been proud and grateful of the time given by countless members over the years. Given the natural course of events, members of the committee have to step down at different points.

We are now looking for new committee members with passion and dedication to athletics and your club.

The responsibilities of the interim Secretary will include:

Managing club correspondence and communication.
Organizing meetings and recording minutes.
Handling administrative tasks and assisting the Membership Secretary.
Coordinating with other club officials to ensure smooth operations.

The responsibilities of the interim Treasurer will include:

Managing the club’s income and expenditure and its assets and liabilities
Maintain bank account(s) in the name of the Club in accordance with mandate ratified by the Committee
Producing an end of year financial report
Identifying a suitable individual to independently review the annual accounts
Regularly reporting back to the club committee on all financial matters
Depending on the type of legal structure reporting back to the relevant body as required.
Efficient payment of invoices and bills
Keeping up to date financial records

We understand that this is a significant commitment, but we assure you that your efforts will be greatly appreciated by the entire club community. Your contribution will help maintain the continuity of our operations during this transitional period.

Thank you for considering this request. Your support is invaluable to us, and we look forward to potentially working with you to ensure the continued success of the Newham & Essex Beagles Athletics Club.

Warm regards,

Executive Committee
Newham & Essex Beagles Athletics Club
